adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Relocation prerequisites adoption process Now request this dog! Curtain up and the stage is set – for now it's Vili's turn! Finally, he gets to introduce himself. He has been waiting so long in the public shelter in Baia Mare and wants to find his people so badly. Is there someone out there who can convince him? Vili is a ca. 9-year-old male dog with a medium size of 50 cm. He is simply breathtaking. One has to fall in love with him, right? Vili doesn't like his male fellow animals at all. With the girls, however, he gets along well. We cannot provide information about his compatibility with cats, and children should already be firm in handling dogs. Otherwise, Vili is a special dog who urgently needs an experienced home. A foster home would also be nice to settle in and get used to. Because Vili doesn't like to be touched yet. But we can certainly change that. Vili just wants to move forward at his own pace and is therefore looking for an empathetic, patient, and understanding family to slowly settle into his new life. He hasn't completely given up on trust with people, and we can certainly restore that! Vili comes without a history, like most of our fur babies. But now we have the opportunity to write a happy ending for him! He still needs to learn the dog alphabet, and once he settles in, he will surely also enjoy a visit to a positively working dog training class. He doesn't like stress, but wishes for a relaxed but routine everyday life. A loving but consistent upbringing is exactly what our Vili is looking for in his new life! Vili travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. He will be transported under positive conditions. Vili would also be very happy about a foster home! Thank you Tatjana H.! You are supporting Vili with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 20.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvorraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Tatjana H.! Du unterstützt Vili mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! About Vili

What life with Vili looks like

Vili is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
