Vince

Mixed Breed · Male

Sometimes life writes its own stories – and Vince has already experienced a real adventure on the first page. Along with three other dogs, the little charmer was simply dropped off at the gates of our Romanian partner shelter. Instead of feeling down about it, the young pup took things in stride. Of course, he would have preferred if his family hadn’t just left him there, but Vince wouldn’t be Vince if he didn’t handle it with youthful optimism. Anyone who sees him today encounters a cheerful, alert young dog who is making the best of his situation and has captured the hearts of the staff at our shelter. At eight months old, Vince is right in the middle of his best teenage years – charming, energetic, and sometimes a bit mischievous, but always with a smile on his face. He is a typical young dog: happy, playful, and ready for any mischief – as long as it’s with his humans. Women, men, other dogs – everyone is welcome in Vince's circle of friends. Even cats meet him with a mix of youthful curiosity and polite respect. As interested and smart as he is, he learns quickly. The first walk outside the shelter was a real highlight for Vince and one could clearly see that he understood – even more awaits me! At the same time, there’s a sensitive core to him. So far, Vince hasn’t had the chance to experience life in a house and new situations can initially unsettle him. Vince doesn’t know yet that socks aren’t toys, that sofas aren’t trampolines, and that vacuum cleaners aren’t fire-breathing dragons. But hey – who wasn’t a bit overwhelmed during their first move into their own home? Thanks to his curiosity and eagerness to learn, the cute this breed will quickly understand all of this with patience, humor, and loving guidance. Vince carries a small peculiarity with him – his tail is only half as long as most dogs’. Whether he was born this way or if an earlier mishap is behind it remains unclear. One thing is certain: his zest for life isn’t hindered by this. His half-length tail can wag like a full one – and it does at every opportunity. A home is sought that gives a young dog room to learn, grow, and blossom. People who know that education is a shared journey and that one can laugh off minor mishaps are perfect. A rural setting or a quiet household with plenty of time for movement, play, and affection would be ideal. It would be great if a confident canine companion were already there to show him how family life works (though it’s not a must). If you’re thinking, “This sounds like exactly the right dog for us!”, then please send us a message. Tell us a bit about yourselves and your family – we’re keen to see who would like to fill Vince's little heart with love. Vince is waiting for his luck at our partner shelter in our area. He will be vaccinated, microchipped, and treated against internal and external parasites before being rehomed. Before travel arrangements are made, a SNAP test will be performed for common Mediterranean diseases.

DE·Show original

About Vince

What life with Vince looks like

Vince is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hope for lost Souls e.V. in Kleinostheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vince, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vince?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope for lost Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vince on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vince if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope for lost Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vince already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vince isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope for lost Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vince and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
