Adopt Vincent

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Vincent is one of those who you immediately want to pet. He is one of those to whom you want to say: Don’t be afraid, I mean well with you. And Vincent is also one who you can lean on after a while. One who will one day say, Thank you, dear human, for saving me, for trusting me, for recognizing me. We all hope that this day is not far off, because this wonderful dog has been waiting since the end of May '25 at ASPA, the State Animal Shelter in Bucharest. He has only left his kennel once since then, to take some photos. So, it’s no wonder that he is shy and reserved, that he doesn’t know what to make of it all. And yet, he does really well. He is friendly and lets himself be stroked. That’s a lot for a start and a good foundation for everything that is to come. In a home, a real home. Whoever takes Vincent in starts anew. Back to the beginning, dear Vincent, right? You haven’t had the chance to experience anything yet, and yet you want to so much. How grateful you would be if you had loving people around you, who care and look after you, who help you on your way to a life that will finally be worth living. With Vincent, we encounter a dog that could also be called a "soul dog." There are people who sense this, who may have already met such a dog. We are looking for empathetic and patient people for Vincent, who will guide him with love and patience in his new daily life. Have we found them? Could it be you? Then give us a call, or send an email. Vincent’s mediator will kindly advise and support you. Now it’s time for you to find your people. Good luck, dear Vincent. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Vincent

What life with Vincent looks like

Vincent is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vincent, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vincent?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vincent on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vincent if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vincent already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vincent isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vincent and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
