adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Vindur! adoption requirements adoption process The beautiful Vindur has found his people! His story: Vindur is a real eye-catcher thanks to his wonderful fur pattern. Since early April, he has been in his foster home and has won the hearts of everyone there, even after a bit of shyness at first. Vindur is about 4 months old and will grow to be medium-sized. He is a rather reserved character but very clingy and cuddly with his trusted people. The little rascal loves to run around with his playmates across the yard and explore nature. Vindur has a nice, open, friendly, and uncomplicated nature. He is a rather quiet dog and follows his people closely. He gets along well with other dogs, regardless of size, age, or breed. A contact with cats has not yet been tested. Vindur is still a very young dog and must learn according to his age. The dog ABC must be taught to him with a positive and encouraging training style – walking on a leash, sit, down, come. Vindur would be thrilled to attend dog training classes. In the first year of life, dogs should be left alone as little as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is still ahead. This phase affects every dog, regardless of size, age, or gender. The hormone chaos turns the little one's world upside down. They often forget everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently but lovingly during this phase. And there is also good news: Just like with us humans, this phase will pass! And what remains is a loyal canine soul with which you can hopefully spend many years together, enjoy walks together, and gather new experiences. If you decide to adopt the lovable Vindur, he can be microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed for his new home. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be placed in a new home after a positive assessment. Who will give the little Vindur a safe and loving home? Vindur looks forward to your inquiry and with a bit of luck, he can soon become part of your life. Vindur can be visited in his foster home. Vindur has his heart to give – to you? Many thanks, Marita! You gave Vindur his name! Date: April 19.

Vielen Dank Marita! Du hast Vindur seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 19.04.2024

About Vindur

What life with Vindur looks like

Vindur is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vindur, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vindur?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vindur on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vindur if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vindur already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vindur isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vindur and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
