Violet

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Violet is a lovely, friendly girl who is now ready to find a forever home of her own! Found as a stray with her kittens, Violet has spent time in a loving foster home raising her little ones and is now ready for her next chapter. She has shown herself to be a friendly and confident girl, and we can’t wait to see her settle into a home where she can enjoy life as a much-loved family member. Violet will need a home with outdoor access so she can enjoy exploring the world beyond her doorstep. We don’t have any history of Violet living with children, dogs or other cats, but given her friendly and confident nature, we feel she may be able to share her home with them following slow, careful introductions. If you’re looking for a lovely companion to welcome into your life, could Violet be the girl for you? 💜

About Violet

What life with Violet looks like

Violet is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Violet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Violet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Violet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Violet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Violet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Violet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Violet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
