Vivo (vermittelt)

Dachshund · Male · Senior · 9 years

Regarding the ages mentioned here, they are often estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other information like size is subjective. Vivo Born January 2017, male neutered dog, mixed breed (possibly Dachshund/Cocker) small foster home And it has struck again! The foster home retention syndrome. Vivo may now stay forever in his foster home. Nice for Vivo, who has so much fun with his new sister Lisa. We wish Vivo and his new pack all the best for the future and a great, exciting, and above all worry-free time together. A "fur" of the foster home retention syndrome… Actually, he should be rehomed to a new home, but somehow none of the interested parties fit… and so the little whirlwind gets to stay and operates a "yoga company" together with his buddy Lisa and Frauchen :)) Vivo now lives on a foster home in Germany with a young female dog. He is a cheerful, uncomplicated young dog who quickly learns and orientates himself to his foster Frauchen. Outdoors, he is still a bit unsure with all the new impressions. Then he stops and observes first. But together with his foster sister and Frauchen, they usually master all new situations. He is house-trained, walks well on a leash, and stays, together with the female dog, for a short time alone. Driving in the car is not his favorite, but that will surely improve. Vivo is compatible with fellow animals and at first more submissive. With familiar dogs, he plays and frolics joyfully. Who will give this lovable little fellow a home where he can experience and learn a lot, as it should be for a young dog? He will make a great companion. Vivo came from the large animal shelter on Teneriffa, where he was completely terrified with many other dogs in a pen. Now, he has left the animal shelter and shows himself at the dog pension as a cheerful, playful young dog, very open to people, and likes to play with his fellow animals. Here are a few pictures. About Vivo (vermittelt)

What life with Vivo (vermittelt) looks like

Vivo (vermittelt) is a small senior dachshund dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vivo (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vivo (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vivo (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vivo (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vivo (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vivo (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vivo (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
