Vlasta – the story of great luck in misfortune Vlasta was found on April 5, 2025 – hit by a car and lying by the road. She was very lucky that a woman noticed her, as the fate of the injured dog was not indifferent to her. Thanks to her quick reaction, Vlasta was immediately taken to a veterinary clinic, where she received first aid, was stabilized and given an infusion and supportive treatment. She was conscious, but in shock, and suffered serious injuries to her pelvic limbs. X-rays revealed multiple fractures - a femur fracture and bilateral tibial fractures. After stabilization, she was taken to UVLF clinic, where on April 10, 2025 she underwent her first difficult orthopedic surgery. The fracture of the pelvic limb required fixation using screws, a locking plate and an intramedullary nail. The second limb was operated on April 15. Vlasta remained hospitalized until June 4, 2025. During hospitalization, intensive post-operative care, regular administration of medication, wound cleaning and control examinations took place. Already during her stay at the clinic, Vlasta began to walk on her own without needing support. After being released from the clinic, she went to a temporary foster home, where she continued her recovery. From the temporary foster home, they wrote that Vlasta was easygoing, very kind and grateful female dog with a delicate, submissive nature. She loved people - especially children - and got along well with dogs, female dogs and cats. At home, she behaved impeccably, didn't destroy anything and had good hygiene habits. After the treatment ended, Vlasta came to the shelter, where she is now waiting for her loving home. Vlasta is initially cautious when meeting new people, but it only takes her a little time and some encouragement - treats help very well - and suddenly she becomes a great friend. She is very friendly, cheerful and playful with people she knows. She is an active and curious female dog, full of energy and the desire to discover new things. She likes stuffed animals and most often plays with the shelter dog Winnie, but also tries to play with other dogs. In a new environment, she can be uncertain for a while, needs time to smell and understand that she is safe. However, once she sees that nothing bad is threatening her, she quickly relaxes and shows her kind, playful nature. She gets along well with dogs and female dogs. Handling her is hassle-free. Vlasta will be a great buddy for people who give her a gentle, patient approach and show her that life can be good. She is suitable for children who know how to behave properly around a dog. She is suitable for an apartment or a house with access to a yard, where she will have proximity to her people - this is what she needs the most. Vlasta – príbeh veľkého šťastia v nešťastí Vlasta sa našla 5. apríla 2025 – zrazená a ležiaca pri ceste. Mala obrovské šťastie, že si ju všimla pani, ktorej osud zraneného psíka nebol ľahostajný. Vďaka jej pohotovej reakcii bola Vlasta okamžite prevezená na veterinárnu kliniku, kde jej poskytli prvú pomoc, stabilizovali ju a nasadili infúznu a podpornú liečbu. Bola pri vedomí, no v šoku, a utrpela vážne poranenia panvových končatín. Röntgenové vyšetrenia odhalili viacnásobné zlomeniny – zlomeninu stehennej kosti a obojstrannú zlomeninu holenných kostí. Po stabilizácii bola prevezená na kliniku UVLF, kde 10. apríla 2025 podstúpila prvú náročnú ortopedickú operáciu. Zlomenina panvovej končatiny si vyžiadala fixáciu pomocou skrutiek, uzamykateľnej platničky a vnútrodreňového klinca. Druhú končatinu jej operovali 15. apríla. Vlasta zostala hospitalizovaná až do 4. júna 2025. Počas hospitalizácie prebiehala intenzívna pooperačná starostlivosť, pravidelné podávanie liekov, čistenie rán a kontrolné vyšetrenia. Už počas pobytu na klinike začala Vlasta sama chodiť bez potreby opory. Po prepustení z kliniky odišla do dočasnej opatery, kde pokračovala v rekonvalescencii. Z dočasky nám napísali, že Vlasta bola nenáročná, veľmi milá a za všetko vďačná fenočka, ktorá mala jemnú, submisívnu povahu. Ľudí milovala – obzvlášť deti – a výborne vychádzala so psíkmi, fenkami aj mačičkami. Doma sa správala vzorne, nič neničila a mala hygienické návyky. Po ukončení liečby prišla Vlasta do útulku, kde teraz čaká na svoj milujúci domov. Vlasta je spočiatku opatrná pri zoznámení s novými ľuďmi, no stačí jej chvíľka a trocha povzbudenia – pamlsky pomáhajú výborne – a zrazu je z nej veľká kamarátka. K ľuďom, ktorých pozná, je veľmi priateľská, veselá a hravá. Je to aktívna a zvedavá fenočka, plná energie a chuti objavovať nové veci. Má rada plyšáky a najradšej sa vyšantí s útulkáčom Winniem, no skúša sa hrať aj s ostatnými psíkmi. V novom prostredí môže byť chvíľku neistá, potrebuje čas, aby si všetko oňuchala a pochopila, že je v bezpečí. Keď však vidí, že jej nič zlé nehrozí, rýchlo sa uvoľní a prejaví svoju milú, hravú povahu. So psami aj fenkami vychádza bez problémov. Manipulácia je u nej bezproblémová. Vlasta bude skvelou parťáčkou pre ľudí, ktorí jej doprajú jemný, trpezlivý prístup a ukážu jej, že život môže byť fajn. Je vhodná aj k deťom, ktoré vedia, ako sa pri psíkovi správne správať.
