Adopt Vodka

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Mixed Breed (Non LOF) Chip Number: 642090002253790 Background: Came out of the Datcha shelter in Romania. Vodka was found abandoned in a cornfield, hungry and alone. Hearing the sound of a car engine, she came out of the field and immediately approached her rescuer, jumping eagerly into the car as if she knew she had finally found safety. Personality/Description: Vodka's personality is a perfect mix of gentleness and sociability. She loves being around people and has a natural love for other animals, making her an excellent candidate for a home with multiple pets. Since arriving at her foster family, Vodka has settled in quickly, behaving as if she had always lived in a house, showing how adaptable and ready she is to live in a home. Also, she has formed a special bond with a kitten of the same age. The two have become inseparable, spending their days playing and keeping each other company. As an exception, we are therefore looking for a double adoption. If you want not one, but two affectionate companions, Vodka and her friend Yamakasi are made for you. Finally, her affectionate nature and ability to form bonds with other animals, combined with her survival story, make Vodka a special dog ready to bring love and joy to her new family. She is approximately 31 cm tall and weighs 6 kg (short-legged. She won't grow much). Adoption Fee: 282 euros (including membership) for her + 135 euros for Yamakasi. Adoption outside of France is entirely possible. The adopter must also be able to visit the foster family to meet the animal. Vaccinated: YES + rabies and passport To adopt, please complete this form: have this certificate completed by a veterinarian or ASV and present it to us after signing it: Finally, this dog is not suitable for you or is no longer available?

About Vodka

What life with Vodka looks like

Vodka is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Action 4 Pets in France.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vodka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vodka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vodka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vodka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vodka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vodka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vodka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
