Maak kennis met Wabi en Sabi: Sommige katten vallen direct op. Andere laten hun schoonheid pas zien als je even de tijd neemt. Wabi en Sabi behoren tot die laatste categorie. Hun namen zijn geïnspireerd op de Japanse filosofie wabi-sabi: het vermogen om schoonheid te zien in het eenvoudige, het onvolmaakte en het unieke. Net als hun naamgenoten zijn Wabi en Sabi geen perfecte plaatjes uit een reclamefolder. Ze hebben hun eigen verhaal, hun eigen persoonlijkheid en hun eigen zachte en bijzondere manier om je hart te veroveren. Wabi (wit) geniet van de kleine dingen: een warm plekje in de zon, een rustig aaitje en het tevreden spinnen aan je zijde. Zij heeft tijd nodig om te wennen en haar mensen te leren kennen. Wie haar die tijd geeft, krijgt haar unieke schoonheid in zijn volledigheid te zien. Sabi (zwart) brengt balans met haar nieuwsgierige blik en haar energieke aanwezigheid, alsof ze je eraan herinnert om in het moment te zijn en te waarderen wat er is. Wabi en Sabi genieten van het buiten zijn en van de natuur, dus in hun nieuwe hoofdstuk speelt buitenruimte een rol. Verder zijn ze gewend aan kinderen maar gezien Wabi’s verlegen gedrag, zien we ze liever op een rusigere plek. Een klein huishouden met oudere kinderen, of een 1- of 2-persoonshuis zou prima passen.
