Die cerebelläre Hypolplasie bedeutet, dass Waffles Kleinhirn unterentwickelt ist und somit Probleme mit dem Gleichgewicht und Koordination hat. Die Lebenserwartung ist dadurch nicht eingeschränkt, jedoch hat Waffle Probleme beim Laufen und Springen und hat einen unsicheren Gang. Das sollte bei Gestaltung des Wohnraumes (Klettermöglichkeiten) beachtet werden. Vielleicht läuft er nicht wie andere Katzen, aber Waffel lässt dich davon nicht abbringen, die Zeit mit seinen Katzenkumpels zu genießen – besondere mit seinem Bruder Pancake. Deshalb wird Waffle nicht in Einzelhaltung vermittelt. Er braucht unbedingt einen Katzenfreund an seiner Seite – am liebsten natürlich seinen Bruder Pancake oder eine bereits vorhandene, etwa gleichaltrige Katze.
