Wanda

Collie Β· Female Β· Young Β· 1 year

06-11-26 Wanda is a sweet lady who has come to us from a breeder. She is an ex-gun dog and has previously been used as a working dog, so she will be looking for an active home where she can enjoy plenty of walks, adventures and activities to keep her busy. Due to her working background, she may be prone to chasing small cats and other small furries, so she will need a home without them. Wanda isn't overly confident just yet, but she is just finding her paws, and is a very sweet girl. She can take some time to come around, but once she warms up to you, she will be an amazing companion. She plays well with other dogs, and can live with at least one kind resident dog in her home, or she can be the only dog in an active home, as she doesn't rely on other dogs for comfort. She will need patient adopters who can support her as she gets used to the routines of a home and learns about house training. She already walks well on a lead and will no doubt enjoy getting out and about once she has settled in. Wanda can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 13+ who are sensible. Wanda knows how to sit, loves to play fetch and will even bring the ball right back to you! Wanda is a lovely girl who is ready to find her forever home, where she can enjoy an active lifestyle, make new friends and start her next adventure! She has a travel document. Wanda has been given of life by Ruth Butterworth This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Wanda

What life with Wanda looks like

Wanda is a small young adult collie dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wanda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wanda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wanda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wanda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Wanda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wanda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wanda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
