Watani

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Age: Born around November 2022. Gender: male. neutered: yes Character: friendly, very respectful in dealing with other dogs Size: approx. 45 cm In shelter since: March 2023 Family: siblings Mike & (Leon, Lyall & Lou – already adopted) Hello there out there! I am Watani and I am thrilled to have the chance to introduce myself! Now that I've already celebrated my birthdays here in the shelter, it wasn't exactly a joyful occasion, but I hope with all my heart that someone will see me and take me home. And this thought puts me in a party mood. When my siblings and I first came here, I was still a little cute puppy. Of course, we were all naturally infinitely adorable with our wobbly little paws as we explored the world—or rather, our run. But life here in the shelter doesn't offer us much more than that. By now, I'm not as small, but I've kept my cute puppy look. With my big, cuddly eyes, I look through the bars every day and imagine my future life with green meadows, long walks, and cozy hours on the sofa. Do you want to help me? I will also try my best to make everything good. But please be patient with me if it takes me a little longer. I still don't know how to live with people and will surely make a few small mistakes unknowingly and unintentionally. I rely on your calmness, trust, and care. But I think we can do it together. I'm surprised that you haven't softened yet with my look. So, come on, now, sign up. Until then, I'll wait here (hopefully not for too long). Also los jetzt meldet euch.

About Watani

What life with Watani looks like

Watani is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Watani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Watani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Watani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Watani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Watani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Watani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Watani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
