Wave und Pearl

British Shorthair · Unknown · Kitten · 10 months

Wave and Pearl came to us as kittens with several other cats from a seizure. Unfortunately, they were not allowed to be adopted at first because it was unclear whether they had to go back to their old owner. When it finally became clear that we could adopt them, they unfortunately sat in a station where ringworm broke out with us. Unfortunately, the treatment is very long and exhausting for both humans and animals. We expect the negative result from the station in the next few days, however. After that, the two can finally move into a new home. At the moment you cannot visit them yet, but you can put your name down as an interested party so they can move out directly as soon as the result is there. Wave and Pearl are both super loving and affectionate cuddly cats. They would also be suitable for beginners. Children or dogs should not be a problem either. They are all around uncomplicated and charming.

About Wave und Pearl

What life with Wave und Pearl looks like

Wave und Pearl is a puppy/kitten british shorthair cat waiting at Kolner Tierschutzverein in Köln.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wave und Pearl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wave und Pearl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kolner Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wave und Pearl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wave und Pearl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kolner Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wave und Pearl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wave und Pearl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kolner Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wave und Pearl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
