Whispa

Female · Adult · 4 years

Whispa is a beautiful 4-year-old Shepherd cross who is searching for a home that can match her enthusiasm for life. Originally from Romania, she has lived in the UK since she was a puppy and has grown into a friendly, affectionate, and loving companion. This lovely girl thrives when she has a things to do and would love an active home with people who have the time and motivation to keep both her mind and body busy. Whispa has previously enjoyed Hoopers and would be a fantastic candidate for other dog sports such as agility. She also has an incredible nose and loves to sniff, making scent work another activity she would thoroughly enjoy. Whispa is happiest out exploring and enjoys a good walk, although her nose can sometimes get the better of her and she may pull on the lead when she catches an interesting scent. Despite this, she is very well trained and knows plenty of impressive tricks, making her a joy to work with. She would love a home with a secure garden where she can relax and play safely between adventures. Due to her active nature, extra-secure fencing would be ideal. Whispa could potentially live with a calm, well-socialised male dog of a similar size who will respect her space and enjoy her company. She is looking for owners who will continue her training, provide plenty of enrichment, and include her in all the fun life has to offer. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, and active companion who is always ready for the next adventure, Whispa could be the perfect addition to your family.

About Whispa

What life with Whispa looks like

Whispa is a adult dog waiting at Animal Concern Cumbria in Egremont.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Whispa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Whispa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Concern Cumbria handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Whispa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Whispa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Concern Cumbria will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Whispa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Whispa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Concern Cumbria early rather than rehoming privately; they know Whispa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
