Wiggerl

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Wiggerl has found a home! His story: Whirlwind Wiggerl is a true sunflower. His sunny disposition has remained intact, even though he surely hasn't had only positive experiences in his past life. Wiggerl was found on the roadside between two cities. It's likely that he was abandoned. Now he lives in a foster home, peacefully together with four other male dogs (big and small), a cat, and children also live in the household. Even though he belongs to the small dogs at 35 cm and 7 kg: Wiggerl has a huge heart and one can simply love him. Even though Wiggerl is small and likely suitable for beginners, it should be assumed that he can't yet demonstrate much knowledge of basic dog training. After a proper settling-in period, Wiggerl would certainly be happy to attend dog training classes. Leash walking, basic commands, etc., are probably still as foreign to him as being alone. Also, the little rascal has likely not fully overcome puberty yet. The time when synapses in the brain are freeing up and re-connecting themselves. This can lead to sudden memory lapses and setbacks in training are not unusual. A loving and consistent upbringing is required, but also a good dose of humor. Wiggerl is already looking forward to beautiful nature walks and a cozy spot in your home and your heart. Wiggerl's luggage is already packed and he can start at any time. He travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and of course with his EU pet passport at hand. Even a foster home would make him happy. Thank you, Sunny W.! You gave Wiggerl a name and thus an identity. As of: 14.07.

Stand: 14.07.2025

About Wiggerl

What life with Wiggerl looks like

Wiggerl is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wiggerl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wiggerl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wiggerl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wiggerl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wiggerl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wiggerl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wiggerl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
