Wilga

Mixed Breed · Unknown

I am Wilga and I have a lot of youthful energy. Although I don't immediately throw myself into the arms of new acquaintances, I very much enjoy observing people and participating in what is happening around me. The greatest joy for me is playing together – then I forget all about my own caution. On June 10, 2026, I arrived at the animal shelter from Chełmoński Street. I was born at the end of April 2026 on the roof, where my mother raised me with my siblings. Fortunately, for a few weeks, the building resident who took care of our bellies and the cleanliness of the litter box helped us. I am vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. I know how to use the litter box, and every day I become more courageous. Maybe it will be in your home where I will spread my wings? When I reach the appropriate age, my guardians will provide a free spaying procedure at the animal shelter.

Do schroniska trafiłam 10 czerwca 2026 roku z ulicy Chełmońskiego. Jestem zaszczepiona, odrobaczona i zaczipowana. Znam zasady korzystania z kuwety i każdego dnia staję się coraz odważniejsza. Może to właśnie w Twoim domu rozwinę skrzydła? Gdy osiągnę odpowiedni wiek, moim opiekunom zapewniamy bezpłatny zabieg sterylizacji w schronisku.

About Wilga

What life with Wilga looks like

Wilga is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wilga, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wilga?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wilga on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wilga if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wilga already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wilga isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wilga and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
