adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Willa has found her home! Her story: Your name could not be more fitting: Willa means "the Strong-willed" – and that perfectly describes this wonderful female dog. Unfortunately, we know nothing about her past, but her body tells a small part of her story: Willa must have once had an accident. One of her legs bears an old fracture, which has fully healed. It doesn't bother her in everyday life and causes no pain. She runs, plays, and moves just like any other dog. Currently, the approximately one-year-old, 38 cm tall, and 9 kg light female dog lives in a loving private foster home. In this foster home, Willa shows her best side. She is open and friendly in dealing with people, seeks their proximity, and enjoys every affection. She also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and moves confidently and socially in the group. Even with cats, she shows a calm and relaxed demeanor, so she can live problem-free with them. Her behavior suggests that Willa previously lived in a household. She craves the company of people, enjoys attention, and learns quickly – a wonderful companion for anyone who wants to give their heart to a loving, gentle, and yet brave female dog. Willa travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. For an adoption fee of 500 Euro, she can move into her new home. She brings her EU pet passport with her. We thank Ela W.! You gave Willa her name! As of: 20.11.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 20.11.2025

About Willa

What life with Willa looks like

Willa is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
