Willi

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Willi is looking for a home – a place to settle in. A spot to feel comfortable. Our Willi is a sensitive, sensitive, self-assured, active, and intelligent German Shepherd-Mix. At around 10 years old, he may not be the youngest, but he’s far from being old. Willi is active and eager for life. He’s looking for people who can show him how great he is. Willi is a gentle guy who likes people. So much so, that he’ll naturally jump into the fray for them. That’s why we wish for people who can confidently show Willi that he doesn’t need to be on guard and can simply be himself. Because now he has a family that takes care of him. Additionally, he wishes for people who can engage him in species-appropriate activities and keep him occupied. Because that’s what he needs. Mental stimulation, what to do. Nose work and thinking games – Willi is right there. Sporty and active people who are experienced with dogs, who can read the body language of four-legged friends, and who can focus on him. Willi gets along well with other dogs. Willi is a medium-sized male dog weighing about 25 kg. He has learned a lot and is now looking for a home that will embrace him and spend the rest of his life with him. Our Willi is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has an EU pet passport and can be visited in advance if desired. Who falls in love with Willi? And gives him a new home? A big thank you goes to Monika M., who has taken over a monthly sponsorship for Willi. As of: 19.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvorraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Beschäftigung, was zu tun. About Willi

What life with Willi looks like

Willi is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
