Willow

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

A female dog - approximately 3 years old (as of October 2026) - approximately 40-45cm - from Bulgaria Origin Willow appeared at the shelter one day with puppies. Unfortunately, the young female dog lost all her babies. We unfortunately do not know where Willow came from before. Now she is looking for a foster home or a home in Germany. Nature Willow is a gentle, friendly dog that initially encounters new situations and people somewhat hesitantly. If you give her the time she needs, she will warm up more and show her loving side. Especially with a few tasty snacks, she can be wonderfully coaxed out of her reserve. Willow is well-suited with other dogs and shows herself as a lovable dog overall, who wants to arrive at her own pace. We have to assume that Willow has not yet experienced life in a house. Things like house training, everyday noises and the routines of living with people, she will probably have to learn. Her future family should approach her with patience, calmness and empathy and give her the time she needs to find her way in her new life. Whoever gives Willow this chance will be able to accompany a gentle soul as she gradually gains confidence and discovers the beautiful sides of a sheltered dog life. Would you like to take Willow in? Then we look forward to your self-disclosure! *We expressly point out that behavior in a new environment can change over time. This should be taken into account with every adoption! Selbstauskunft Adoption Selbstauskunft Pflegestelle

About Willow

What life with Willow looks like

Willow is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Kleine & große Pfoten e.V. in Germany (national, Bulgaria rescue focus).

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kleine & große Pfoten e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kleine & große Pfoten e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Willow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kleine & große Pfoten e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
