adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Willy has found a home! His story: Curious, joyful, and always in the middle of things – Willy is a little explorer who lives up to his name. With the motto “Willy wants to know everything!” this young male dog wants to learn about the world, discover new things, and be everywhere! At around 4–5 months old, this little pup already shows the potential for an active, lively companion. He is playful, alert, and wonderfully relaxed in the company of people. He enjoys being close and meets two-legged beings openly and friendly. Visually, Willy is a true standout: With his differently colored eyes and his funny patched fur, he immediately catches everyone's attention – a little looker with a big charm. What his dog genes are like, we can only guess – we agree to a colorful street mix according to his appearance! He gets along well with other dogs. He shares his kennel with other dogs and is social, playful, and friendly. Whether he knows cats, we don't know yet, but we can certainly test that. Willy was found together with another dog at a roundabout – homeless and in the middle of the dense, dangerous traffic. Without a microchip and apparently exposed, they were on their own. Luckily, they were secured in time. Willy is still at the very beginning of his life. The dog 1×1 must be learned of course – house training, leash training, and basic commands will be part of his schedule going forward. With loving, consistent guidance and enough mental stimulation, he will develop into a wonderful, active companion. A dog training class with positive reinforcement would certainly be perfect for this curious little researcher. Willy is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and travels with an EU pet passport. Even a foster home would be a very valuable help for him! Who will give this special heart dog a home and accompany him on his journey into the big adventure of life? Many thanks Bianca! You gave Willy his identity! As of: 14.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Bianca! Du hast Willy seine Identität geschenkt! Stand: 14.02.2026

About Willy

What life with Willy looks like

Willy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
