Adopt Wilma H

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Born around April 2022, Gender: female, Spayed: yes, Personality: very friendly, cuddly, open to strangers, enthusiastically happy about attention, gets along with fellow animals, Size: approx. 50 cm, In shelter since: March 2023 Hello dear people! Here in the shelter, things are going pretty well. Definitely better than on the streets. Still, I wonder why my people haven't discovered me yet. With my long legs, unique fur pattern, and dreamy gaze, I am a real looker. Additionally, I am totally open and enthusiastically happy about any visit to my enclosure. I throw myself on the ground and happily let myself be stroked. Sometimes I dream of cuddling with my heart's desire and getting all the attention I wish for. This heartfelt wish for a better dog life should not remain a dream. That's why I hope to win many hearts out there. Maybe even yours? And if I succeed, we can conquer the world together, experience adventures, have fun, and take 'hand in paw' into the future. As I haven't had much to learn from yet, I will have my own rhythm to get used to the new life by your side. But together we will make it. As a team. You and me. If you are interested in Wilma, please fill out our interest form (), or send us an email or a message on Facebook. Wilma is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariosis, and leishmaniasis. Elke S. has taken the guardianship for Wilma and ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!. Gets along with other dogs.

About Wilma H

What life with Wilma H looks like

Wilma H is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wilma H, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wilma H?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wilma H on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wilma H if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wilma H already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wilma H isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wilma H and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
