Adopt Wolfi

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Wolfi is a particularly handsome, about six-month-old male dog with white fur, delicate freckles and a unique black spot on the ear that makes him unmistakable. The images with which we are confronted in animal protection often go deep under the skin. In the case of Wolfi and his siblings, it was a video from our Romanian animal welfare workers on site: The puppies were placed in a box and abandoned during the cold night. This sight of the helpless, vulnerable little dogs remains unforgettable and strengthens our determination to do everything possible to give them a safe and loving future. Wolfi has not yet completely overcome these difficult first hours and days. Currently, he appears shy and is occasionally a bit jumpy. He will need time, patience and above all, a lot of affection to gain trust and feel secure. Therefore, his future people should be understanding and not be discouraged by small setbacks. However, we are confident that Wolfi will develop into a secure and open companion with the right support. Most likely, Wolfi carries genes of a herding dog. These dogs are just as impressive as they are demanding, as they were originally bred to, for example, independently guard and protect herds. Herding dogs require sufficient space, clear structures and a consistent, confident leadership. Therefore, a home with a house and garden is a prerequisite. In the coming weeks and months, Wolfi will also enter puberty, an important developmental phase that will challenge both him and his trusted people. During this time, there may temporarily be uncertainties, defiant behavior or seemingly "forgetfulness". Patience, understanding and reliable support are therefore even more important so that Wolfi can develop well.

About Wolfi

What life with Wolfi looks like

Wolfi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Frequently asked

Adopting Wolfi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wolfi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wolfi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wolfi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wolfi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wolfi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wolfi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
