Adopt Delilah

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Adult · 7 years

Delilah is not doing well. The beautiful female dog is suffering a lot in the shelter! Delilah is an incredible people-oriented female dog, she strongly longs for a home. It hurts to see her behind the bars and know that she has wasted three years of her life here. In the shelter, she constantly stretches her head through the bars to get attention and tries to make eye contact with the people present, it seems as if she wants to tell them her suffering and beg them. With her expressive gaze, she manages to get people to come to her and "listen" to her. Unfortunately, these are only too few moments in Delilah's life. The sweet mouse can do many things. She can put on a harness and walk on a leash... no problem! She is very trainable, because she wants to please people and above all be loved. During our tests in the shelter, Delilah was sometimes compatible with other dogs. In the yard where she used to be on a chain, there were several dogs. We assume that the female dog, if she gets the chance to leave her stress behind and arrive calmly, will learn to react calmly in dog encounters. Delilah has moved into the Gini House in Baia Mare and is now finally waiting for her own people there, so that she can finally get out of the kennel... The Amstaff female dog with the great white-brown coat color unfortunately came into our care as an emergency three years ago... She was freed from the chain on which she had been trapped all her life. Emaciated to the bone, starving, with sores on her legs and no one taking care of her - although she had an owner. Delilah has physically recovered well from her torments, but unfortunately she is still suffering behind bars and has become a permanent emergency. The time in the kennel is affecting her so much that she has developed a kennel rage. She constantly runs in circles and is literally going crazy. In addition, she desperately jumps up the walls.

About Delilah

What life with Delilah looks like

Delilah is a adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Delilah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Delilah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Delilah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Delilah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Delilah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Delilah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Delilah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
