Woody & Penny

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Hi there! We’re Woody and Penny, best friends, partners in crime, and a bonded pair looking for a forever family who’ll welcome us both with open arms. We’ve been through life together, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m Woody, a fun-loving 2-year-old Cockapoo with endless enthusiasm and an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a shadow who’ll happily join in every adventure and soak up every bit of fuss you’re willing to give, I’m your boy! Playing, exploring and making new friends are some of my favourite things. And I’m Penny, a 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel. I enjoy getting out and about just as much as Woody, but once the excitement is over, I’m more than happy to stretch out on the sofa for a well-earned cuddle. I like to think I bring a little calm to Woody’s whirlwind! Together, we’re a cheerful, affectionate duo who absolutely adore people. We’re known for being a little bouncy and quite vocal when we’re excited—life’s just too much fun not to tell everyone about it! We’d be happiest in a home with children aged 5 and over who don’t mind our enthusiastic greetings. Our dream home would be in a semi-rural location, where we can spend our walks sniffing all the wonderful countryside smells. We travel brilliantly in the car, so we’re always ready for a new adventure, and we’d love a secure garden where we can zoom around, play together and enjoy the fresh air. We may be able to share our home with another dog if we all get along after a successful introduction. We could also potentially live with a cat—we can get a little playful, but we mean well! Once we’ve had time to settle into our new routine, we’re happy being left for up to two hours. We do have one little request though… our fabulous coats don’t stay this beautiful on their own! We’ll need regular grooming appointments to keep our curls and ears looking their very best. If you’re looking for two loving, loyal companions who’ll fill your home with laughter, adventures, cuddles and twice the wagging tails, we think we might just be the perfect match. If we sound like the pair you’ve been waiting for, click the link below—we can’t wait to meet you! ❤️🐶

About Woody & Penny

What life with Woody & Penny looks like

Woody & Penny is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Woody & Penny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Woody & Penny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Woody & Penny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Woody & Penny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Woody & Penny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Woody & Penny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Woody & Penny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
