Woody

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Woody can stay in its foster home! His story: 56154 Boppard. The wonderfully stream-lined Woody was able to travel to Boppard in January 2024 and find a foster home, waiting for you! There, the lovely, very cuddly Woody has settled in well, is now house-trained, and very attentive and intelligent. He has also already gotten along well with the only dog and learned a lot. He loves walks and the garden, is playfully, timid, and curious around other dogs, and learns daily, including how to walk on a leash, and loves playing with the only dog. Woody's fur is brown-black streaked, and he already confidently grins into the camera. With gleaming pearl-like eyes, he looks a bit skeptical but hopeful into his future. The little guy is now around 5 months old and will likely develop into a lively, at least medium-sized male dog. Woody is looking for people who will lovingly and patiently take him in, not expecting anything from him at first, and show him how a normal dog life works. He looks forward to family connections, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and – crucial for a puppy – plenty of contact with fellow animals. He should live in a rural area, and a garden would be great. Puppies should not be left alone for long periods in their first year. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he will surely quickly learn the entire puppy 1×1. After the adjustment period, the little guy will be happy to visit a positively working dog training class. He is still almost a baby and has a lot to learn. It is important that he gets enough physical exercise and mental stimulation. In a few months, the handsome little male dog will enter puberty, which may undo everything he has learned so far. During this time, rules will be questioned, and boundaries will be retested. But with a loving and consistent upbringing, the handsome puppy will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and confident young male dog, bringing joy and fun to his new family. Originally, the handsome young male dog came from Baia Mare, Romania. Every animal lover is appalled when they hear the story of Woody and his siblings: Seven beautiful and sweet puppy dogs discarded on a landfill! How heartless and irresponsible can people be? Woody and his siblings were found abandoned near a landfill. Probably, the puppies had survived by eating from the trash, until they were rescued. He is exactly like his siblings, a little fighter, and would not have made it to a lively, healthy puppy without that. Have you fallen in love with our little, dear Woody? Then contact us. Many thanks to the namingsponsor Paula, who gave the little Woody his beautiful name!. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Woody darf in seiner Pflegestelle bleiben!

About Woody

What life with Woody looks like

Woody is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Woody, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Woody?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Woody on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Woody if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Woody already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Woody isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Woody and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
