Adopt Yannie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Yannie has found a new home! Her story: 46459 Rees. Yannie could travel to Germany in early February and is now searching for her own family. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with the cats in the household, even though Yannie already met cats in Romania. The young Beagle lady was already house-trained and leash-friendly in Romania. They lived there with 4 dogs and 4 cats and she adapted completely problem-free. It's likely that Yannie is a Beagle-mixed breed. For a purebred Beagle lady, she is a bit larger at 40 cm and 12 kg. Yannie was very friendly and adaptable in her foster home in Romania. Once she settled in, she was full of energy. But even though Yannie can do a lot already, it's important not to forget that Beagles have a strong prey drive and Yannie is still in the middle of puberty, where everything learned is tested again. Therefore, we are looking for people who either already know the breed or are willing to patiently and persistently train Yannie. A visit to dog training classes is strongly recommended, where she will receive basic obedience training, but she should also learn impulse control and intensive recall training. Additionally, she should be adequately stimulated to prevent boredom, which could lead to mischief 😉. Since Beagles are scent hounds, scent games, tracking, or mantrailing would be activities that would make Yannis' heart race. But since Yannie loves treats very much and is therefore easily bribable, she will surely be eager to learn and train everything. Yannie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with her EU pet passport. She can move to her new EU home with all her documents. Who gives Yannie the time she needs? She is looking forward to meeting you. Do you want to offer Yannie an exciting and beautiful life in your family? With adequate stimulation, she will surely become a faithful companion. Thanks, Katharina K.! You gave Yannie a name and thus started her new life. Walks well on a leash.

About Yannie

What life with Yannie looks like

Yannie is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yannie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yannie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yannie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yannie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yannie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yannie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yannie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
