Yazoo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Yazoo has found a home! His story: In a field near Chinteni, five little puppies were left helpless. No trace of their mother, no nourishment. The local animal protection police contacted our animal rescuer Flavia – so the siblings finally found their way to us. Among them: Yazoo, a small black puppy with wide eyes, a charming white chest, and an expression that directly touches the heart. With his fluffy ears, he almost looks like a bat. Despite his difficult start in life, Yazoo shows a great trust in humans and was friendly and social from the beginning. In his new home, Yazoo should be accompanied with lots of love, patience, and age-appropriate support. His people should be ready to teach him the dog ABC, strengthen him – but also respect his sensitive side. Positive working dog training classes can help – even during puberty, which the little ones sometimes question everything. Yazoo is just 3 months old and currently weighs only a kilo. He is likely to stay small, with an estimated shoulder height of between 25 and 35 cm when fully grown. The perfect size to be everywhere. Yazoo is on the lookout for a loving home where he can arrive. A home that will not leave him behind. People who raise him with gentle hands, play with him, cuddle him, and let him participate in their everyday lives. Have you fallen in love with this sweet bat? He can travel out at the end of October, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and equipped with an EU pet passport. Even a suitable foster home would be a great blessing for him. Many thanks to Gritt for giving Yazoo this sweet name and thus a sense of identity. Status: 06.10.

Stand: 06.10.2025

About Yazoo

What life with Yazoo looks like

Yazoo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yazoo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yazoo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yazoo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yazoo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yazoo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yazoo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yazoo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
