Yoda

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 8 years

Rescued, rehabilitated, and regaining more trust in people, Yoda is ready to meet you. The sweet appearance of this dog is somewhat eerie. Life has been harsh and unyielding. He came to us after being rescued from a short-term facility, having lived for eight years without love or care. (Yoda's history) At first, Yoda almost wouldn't let anyone approach, especially the dog, as he may have been bitten by a dog with rabies, having an open wound and a sore. After completing the necessary tests and treatment, Yoda now feels much better, though he still requires a special urinary diet. He has even visited the vet. The grooming procedures were performed for the first time, so there was both fear and nervousness. Yoda responds well to his name, is well-behaved indoors, and gets along well with other friendly dogs, but if he starts to feel threatened, he won't hesitate to defend himself. He is very eager to have puppies, enjoys exploring his surroundings, and likes to play at the beach. Yoda would like to play with people but still can't, as he is not yet comfortable with intense contact. Yoda is neutered, marked, and amputated, aged 8 years. He would be best suited for a quiet home with few children and caring owners who respect the dog's boundaries and teach him to be more gentle.

Atsigavęs, atjaunėjęs, įgavęs daugiau pasitikėjimo žmonėmis Yoda pasiruošęs susipažinti su Jumis Ši miela šunelio išvaizda yra kiek apgaulinga. Gyvenimas Yodos nelepino.

About Yoda

What life with Yoda looks like

Yoda is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SOS Gyvūnai in Šalčininkų r. sav..

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇹Adopting from Lithuania

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yoda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yoda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Gyvūnai handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yoda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yoda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Gyvūnai will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yoda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yoda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Gyvūnai early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yoda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
