Adopt Yodo

Male · Adult · 4 years

Yodo is a dog of the English bulldog type. We know that once Yodo had a home and a warm couch, but unfortunately the previous owner did not fully manage his upbringing. Currently Yodo is 4 years old but unfortunately for two years his home has been the animal shelter. It is sad for us volunteers especially because we see every day what potential this dog has. Despite all the announcements so far, no suitable home has appeared for him. Yodo is a very cute dog for whom the most important thing in life is food. As they say, food is life, and Yodo follows this principle. On walks, he nicely walks on a leash without pulling, and walking with him is pure pleasure. He can get along with stable dogs and walk nicely with them. He will not mind pats, although he is not a great fan of them, maybe this will change at home. At the veterinarian, he is a well-behaved patient because we have had the opportunity to check him in such situations. He also accepts cosmetic treatments with humility. As a bulldog, he prefers walks that are not too demanding. However, he is not a dog for everyone and is rather not suitable as a first dog, but we strongly believe that eventually a dream home will appear for him. This is a very intelligent dog who sometimes understands us without words. Yodo has resource guarding, therefore we are looking for a home that has knowledge in this area and will have the desire and skills to work on this issue with Yodo. With such a dog it is possible to function, but on certain rules. Yodo will definitely repay you and will be a great companion. For this reason, we are looking for a home without children. Yodo needs a home that finally gives him a sense of security and surrounds him with proper care. Unfortunately, we do not know his attitude towards cats.

Yodo to pies w typie buldoga angielskiego. Yodo potrzebuje domu który w końcu da mu poczucie bezpieczeństwa i otoczony go należytą opieką. Ewa 731569086 Marta 506333400

About Yodo

What life with Yodo looks like

Yodo is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Resource guarding behavior - needs experienced owner to work on this issue

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yodo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yodo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yodo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yodo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yodo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yodo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yodo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
