Yolo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Yolo - a Pomeranian mix with a big heart. What can we say about Yolo? He's just a wonderful dog! Currently, the little Spitz mix lives in a foster home in Bulgaria and shows every day what a lovable, friendly and social dog he is. Yolo is already familiar with life in the house, gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, children and people and already walks well on a leash. Of course, Yolo is still young and needs to learn more. Some basics should still be worked on. Even a small dog needs clear rules, structure and loving consistency so that he can go through life safely and relaxed. That's why we wish for Yolo people who are happy to promote him, learn with him and show him patiently what is expected of him. People who give him security, but also know that a lot of love and cuddles are part of a happy dog life. Because cuddling is definitely a highlight for Yolo and should not be neglected in his new home. Now he is actually missing only one thing: his forever home. Who will give our little Yolo the chance to finally arrive? Who wants to grow, learn, laugh and experience many beautiful moments together with him? Yolo is waiting for his people. Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new life. If you are seriously interested in adopting Yolo, please contact the responsible SALVA Hundehilfe caregiver. We would also be very happy to provide a foster home. Here is Yolo's video.

About Yolo

What life with Yolo looks like

Yolo is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yolo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yolo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yolo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
