Yoru

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Yoru is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, neutered, examined by a veterinarian and has an EU passport. I am the handsome mixed-breed male Yoru (approx. born 03/2025 / approx. 59 cm tall). Currently I live in the Herzsprung animal shelter and hope to soon win a wonderful family for myself and move into my own home. I am very friendly and open-minded towards you two-legged ones, but I can also be a bit shy when I first meet someone. Here in the shelter, everyone sees me as a lively and curious dog boy. This is probably because I am still a young dog and want to discover a lot about the world. I especially love happy walks in nature, I blossom unbelievably and love to explore my surroundings. During the joint walks, I show my lively and active side. But when I get home, my calm, cuddly-needed nature takes over. My owner could then stroke my belly for hours or massage my ears. I have to admit that I still have to learn a lot in my home, but since I am such an intelligent and curious fellow, it will not be difficult for me. I also have a friendly nature towards my fellow dogs and make new friends depending on sympathy. I just don't like cats and would rather live in a cat-free household. Responsible children can also be welcome in my new home, as I get along very well with children. Who gives this great boy a new and loving forever home? About Yoru

What life with Yoru looks like

Yoru is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Herzsprung.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yoru, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yoru?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Herzsprung handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yoru on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yoru if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Herzsprung will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yoru already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yoru isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Herzsprung early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yoru and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
