Yosh – externe Vermittlung

Mixed Breed · Male

Typical terrier seeking a new purpose 🐾 🐕 Yosh is: - House-trained - Doesn’t destroy anything at home - Very trainable - Very people-oriented - Gets along very well with most fellow animals - Highly social - Has been with us since puppyhood (lived as a single dog) - A truly lovely animal - Accustomed to a dog boarding facility, which he visits twice a week (during vacations) - Not accustomed to cats – requires training - Not accustomed to children – requires training - Comfortable wearing a muzzle, which he accepts well (e.g., during training, at restaurants, or when receiving visitors) 👌 Yosh enjoys: - Playing - Agility - Scent work - Learning tricks - Cuddling Yosh is allowed off-leash wherever possible. 🌳 His prey drive isn't excessively strong. He doesn't go into water. We occasionally leave him alone when necessary—for up to 4 hours. In the evenings, he goes into his crate; during the day, he’s kept occupied in our absence with a snuffle mat or Kong toy. He doesn’t damage anything when left alone. 🏠 Yosh’s daily routine: He sleeps in a closed crate and is woken between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. He typically gets three walks per day, each lasting 1.5–2.5 hours. In between walks, he’s let out into the garden where he can relieve himself. Around 10 p.m., he goes back into his crate to sleep. Reason for rehoming: It has become difficult for us to receive visitors. He’s overly protective of his family—visitors are jumped on, barked at, or snapped at. For the same reason, dining out at restaurants has become challenging. I’ve booked training sessions with Nina Krämer and train with him daily. He shows great potential, follows instructions very well, and is definitely making good progress. Muzzle training has already been done and is very well accepted (making restaurant visits much more relaxed for everyone). Unfortunately, the rest of my family—especially my husband—is no longer willing to accommodate this special situation. However, consistent training and affection from all family members are absolutely essential for Yosh’s behavior to improve positively. Personally, I believe he’s on the right track and will absolutely succeed with the right people. He is not a malicious dog and deserves a second chance! With a heavy heart, I’ve decided to find Yosh a loving, species-appropriate new home where he’ll be well cared for and where his new family understands what it means to live with a clever terrier 🤓 If you’re interested in Yosh, please contact us by phone ☎️ or email. PROFILE Birthday: December 11, 2020 this breed: Jack Russell Terrier Gender: Male, neutered Color: Tricolor, smooth coat Feeding: Wet and dry food (Barkhofen brand). About Yosh – externe Vermittlung

What life with Yosh – externe Vermittlung looks like

Yosh – externe Vermittlung is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yosh – externe Vermittlung, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yosh – externe Vermittlung?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yosh – externe Vermittlung on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yosh – externe Vermittlung if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yosh – externe Vermittlung already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yosh – externe Vermittlung isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Kinzig-Main e.V. (Tierheim Gelnhausen) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yosh – externe Vermittlung and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
