adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Yoshi has found a home! His story: Yoshi, now named Tashi, is an impressive young male dog – approximately 72 cm tall, 45 kg in weight, and full of energy and learning enthusiasm. Born in September 2023, the Akita-German Shepherd-Malinois mix is in the middle of puberty and developing wonderfully! Tashi is a well-muscled, loving dog with a huge "desire to please." Tashi handles car rides easily, is strongly oriented towards his human, and wants to do everything right. His walking companion adores him, as Tashi shows his gentle and clingy side with familiar people. Towards unfamiliar men, he is initially unsure, but this improves day by day. Even in dog encounters, he shows insecurity and tends to pull on the leash – with consistent training and guidance, this will improve. At home, he lives with a large dog friend. We are looking for a single place for Yoshi to offer him the necessary peace. Tashi is a real powerhouse that wants to be challenged both physically and mentally. He needs people who can lead him with love but also consistency and challenge and encourage him. Young children, cats, and small pets should not live in the new home – his prey drive is simply too pronounced. Nevertheless, Tashi remains approachable in such situations and shows that he is trainable. Typical of his breeds, Tashi has a protective instinct, reliably watches the house and yard, and can be easily sent to his room when needed. Tashi seeks dog-experienced people with patience, heart, and a confident demeanor, who are willing to go through thick and thin with a sensitive, intelligent, and loyal companion. If you decide to take him in, he will come to you neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings his EU Companion Animal Card and can be transported after a positive home check. Many thanks to Kristin! You named Yoshi. Many thanks to Milana Scheu for the beautiful pictures of Yoshi! Vielen Dank an Kristin! Stand: 21.09.2025

About Yoshi

What life with Yoshi looks like

Yoshi is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yoshi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yoshi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yoshi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yoshi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yoshi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yoshi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yoshi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
