Yuka

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Yuka has found her people! Her story: The pretty Yuka is the black sheep in her family – because all her siblings found homes quickly and were able to make their way into their own families. Only Yuka stayed behind, until she fortunately was able to move into a foster home. Now she eagerly awaits the chance to meet her own family. Yuka is already 55 cm tall at just 7 months old. Accordingly, it is expected that she will grow to an even larger size. Yuka is a friendly and social female dog who lives in her foster home with a cat and the only other dog. She is open with people, playful, and cuddly. Yuka is an intelligent female dog who quickly learns new things. She has just arrived at puberty, where she typically questions everything anew. Everything she has already learned and mastered seems to have been forgotten, and of course, she is currently testing her limits. The little sweet mouse has developed into a real pubescent phase, where it is even more important to support her with consistent but loving upbringing. And the good news is: This phase will pass. With patience, understanding, and a lovingly consistent upbringing style, the intelligent Yuka will also emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and self-assured young female dog and faithfully accompany her family in all activities. After the adjustment period, Yuka will surely be happy to attend a positively working dog training class, which will support her self-confidence and her bond to her new owner. For Yuka, we wish loving and patient people who will give her the time she needs to find her way in the new situation and who are eager to fully embrace the pretty female dog. We thank heartily the namingsponsor Drea N., who gave Yuka her beautiful name. Stand: 05.02. This animal is vaccinated.

Stand: 05.02.2025

About Yuka

What life with Yuka looks like

Yuka is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
