Yuki &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Yuki is a nearly seven-month-old West Highland Terrier girl … possibly with a few crossed genes, we don’t know. We do know, however, that Yuki is incredibly cute, funny, and sweet as sugar. So how does such a cream puff end up searching for a new home? Well, Yuki had a home where it wasn’t entirely clear that a young puppy neither trained nor housebroken was delivered. Most specimens also don’t like to be left alone for more than 10 hours a day, and it happens that they bark even if they weren’t prompted to. So Yuki is a normal puppy that came to people who had no idea what a puppy needed. And while at first the baby schema was still in play with all the “Oh, isn’t she cute!” from friends and neighbors, the moment came when Yuki’s owners thought their female dog should finally stop behaving like a young puppy. Since that didn’t happen on its own, the girl who no longer understood the world was given to Arca Sevilla – let others deal with the little pest. Perhaps it’s the best thing that could have happened to Yuki, because now she has the chance to find a family that will treat her right, support her, and love her. To spare Yuki the animal shelter, she can currently live in a loving foster family in Sevilla – and she’s having a lot of fun in her temporary home. Yuki is looking for humorous people with lots of time, who will patiently explain how the world works and explore and conquer it with her. Additionally, she would like a squeaky-bunny ball and her own pillow on the couch, but we want to make it clear that this is not obligatory – patience, love, and the promise that she will never leave her new home are, however. This animal is house-trained.

DE·Show original

About Yuki &#8211

What life with Yuki &#8211 looks like

Yuki &#8211 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuki &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuki &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuki &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuki &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuki &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuki &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuki &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
