Yuma

Belgian Malinois · Female · Puppy

Malinois mix Yuma - young female dog looking for people with heart and mind Yuma is currently living in our Spanish partner animal shelter. The young female dog is just at the beginning of her life and should be allowed to discover the world instead of spending most of her day behind bars. The pretty female dog was brought to the shelter as a found dog. Nevertheless, she has retained her cheerful nature: Yuma shows herself loving, playful and very social. She loves being close to people, enjoys contact with other dogs and is happy about every opportunity to romp around, discover and just be a young dog. Especially for a young dog like Yuma, these experiences are incredibly important. She needs a home where she can arrive, learn and develop - with people who show her the world and accompany her patiently through all new situations. As a Malinois mix, Yuma probably brings many typical characteristics of this breed: She will likely be an intelligent, attentive and eager to learn dog that likes to work with her humans. A Malinois or Malinois mix is not a beginner's dog, they bring special needs and make high demands on their people. A dog like Yuma needs clear, fair leadership, meaningful employment and people who enjoy learning and working together with her. Probably Yuma still knows nothing or not much about life in a household. Housebreaking, leash training, learning to be quiet, staying alone and all the small rules of living together must first be built up. A young dog is not only sweet - it means many years of responsibility, time, patience and willingness to go through more difficult phases such as puberty and development. For Yuma we wish hunde-or breed experienced people who give her this chance: an active, loving home where she is promoted, gets security and grows into the great female dog that is in her. Yuma has her whole life ahead of her. Now all she needs is a family that wants to go this way with her. If you are aware of what comes with adopting a shelter dog and have fallen for the rescue nose, please contact the responsible SALVA Hundehilfe mediator. We would also be very grateful if you could provide a foster home! Here's Yuma's video

About Yuma

What life with Yuma looks like

Yuma is a large puppy/kitten belgian malinois dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
