Yumi

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Senior Β· 10 years

Scrumptious Yumi was taken in by Dogs Trust Merseyside due to a housing issue and he has quickly settled into a fantastic foster home which is perfect for their older boys and girls. Yumi is such a smashing boy and will make someone a wonderful companion. He is a medium size, 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross and he is proving to be a quiet boy who is very well behaved. He just loves attention and he enjoys curling up with his foster carers as he has been allowed on the furniture, but he will also happily take himself off to nap somewhere else. Yumi doesn't pester for food but he has had a peep on the worktops! Although he's an older gent, he is still very playful and likes you to throw tennis balls for him. Strangers aren't an issue for him as he likes to greet everyone, including other dogs. He tends to be a little too forward when sniffing other dogs, sticking his nose where it isn't always that welcome, so probably he would be best as the only dog at home but with some nice pals for walks. Yumi can live with high school aged children but will need to be the only pet. He is house-trained and has been good when left by himself for short periods. Yumi requires daily pain relief for arthritis. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you think you have the perfect home for adorable Yumi, please contact Dogs Trust Merseyside as follows: Apply: via their website – click here or Ext.1068 (Reception) – Monday-Friday Please mention you saw Yumi on the Oldies Club website.

About Yumi

What life with Yumi looks like

Yumi is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yumi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yumi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yumi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yumi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yumi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yumi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yumi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
