Not yet available πŸ‘‰ tap here for our available adoption dogs in the Netherlands ➑️ For Yuna, we have found a foster family! On the weekend of May 30th, she was warmly received by her foster family in Badhoevedorp (province of North Holland). There, she gets the time to "land," after everything she has experienced, the long journey, and now arriving in a completely new world for her. Through her foster family, we get to know Yuna better, how she feels and behaves in the Netherlands. When she becomes available for adoption, the information on this page will be expanded! Information on Yuna in Romania: In January and again in March and May 2026, a few of our team members spent a week visiting Elisa's animal shelter in Romania, with whom we work closely. This way, we get to know the dogs there as well as possible, contribute to their socialization, and take photos and videos so that we can present the puppies and adult dogs as well as possible to potential foster families or adopters. Only the puppies and adult dogs we expect to be happy in the Netherlands – and their adopters with the dog – are facilitated by us. Puppy Yuna is one of them!

About Yuna

What life with Yuna looks like

Yuna is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Straydogs Rescue Nederland in RC Nieuwe Pekela.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡³πŸ‡±Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Straydogs Rescue Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Straydogs Rescue Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Straydogs Rescue Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
