Adopt a Cat ‘Zac’ – ‘Louie’ 1875 Views Well we MUST go all out to find these lovely boys a home. They have now been with us since May 2025 😿😪😿😪 Yes 15 nearly 16 months but just get passed by 💔 They must stay as a pair as ‘Zac’ takes a little while to feel confident with new people ( unless they arrive with cooked chicken or a few Dreamies 😺 ) whereas ‘Louie’ will greet everyone 😺 So ‘Zac’ needs ‘Louie’ to show him all is well xx❣️xx ‘Zac’ is 8yo and ‘Louie’ 7yo so many years ahead of them 🐾🐾 ‘Louie’ is rather podgy being confined for far too long, so they both will prosper having a house to explore and once settled the world will open up to them again and the feel of grass under their paws once again, it will be TRULY AMAZING for them 💞 We have never confined them to an outside unit as they have always been indoors in my front room and hallway – well until recently as 2 feral kittens have taken over the hallway for the time being. They have been PURRFECT in every way during their LONG stay BUT enough is enough THEY NEED A HOME TO CALL THEIR VERY OWN – they need a human to tend their every need and they need to be ADORED and cherished for their years ahead. They are obviously neutered and they are vaccinated and microchipped. All our Cat Cuddlers have made their stay so much nicer as they have been used to their very regular visits which again helps them no end and we are so, so grateful to them all xx❣️❣️xx As you will see one of our Cuddlers is little Luna and she is totally AMAZING with all our furry people – young and old – and of course her Mum. PLEASE help us to find a loving, safe, quiet home for these very special boys. They SO want to get on with their lives, they want to be cats and do what cats do – please help us to achieve this for them ❣️ You are most welcome to visit them as many times as you like and spend quality time with them. Between 2pm – 8pm is best for me as mornings are hectic with on average 14/15 cats here at any one time, also not forgetting our 3 rescue 🐇🐇🐇 xx❣️xx Do I live in a mansion ? NO !!!!! ‘Louie’ and ‘Zac’ waiting patiently (still) for that special home to be offered to them – they deserve SO MUCH they really do ❣️ You can call me anytime on 521778 / – if I miss your call please do leave a message with your phone number so I can get back to you xx❣️❣️xx * We only home on the IoW * Share on Facebook

About Louie

What life with Louie looks like

Louie is a medium-sized adult mixed breed cat waiting at Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Louie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Louie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Louie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Louie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Louie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Louie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Feline Welfare (Isle of Wight) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Louie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
