Zamina

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Zamina is a lovely female dog who was found alone wandering in the community of Pilis on June 1, 2026 and brought to the animal shelter. She has been named Zamina there. Unfortunately, her owners could not be located; she was neither chipped nor did they report themselves at the shelter. Zamina waited in vain for her people, there was no one who missed her. The quarantine period is over and Zamina hopes to be discovered by her new humans soon and start a new, happy life with them. Zamina is just irresistible. She is a charming and lovable dog, friendly, nice, cheerful, open-minded, lively, simply a sunshine that brings much love and joy into the new family. Unfamiliar situations can of course intimidate her sometimes, but curiosity takes over quickly and when she knows people by her side on which she can rely, she masters every "hurdle". She enjoys every caress and attention and soaks it up like a sponge. The little one needs a lot of love and closeness and never wants to miss this again. Zamina still has to do some homework and learn what a dog needs to know for his further life as a family member, but she is a smart four-legged animal that will quickly understand how the rabbit runs. She wants to get everything right and please her humans. Walking on a leash makes her already quite fine, but it can still be improved, details may have to be worked out later. With her kindred spirits Zamina gets along well and is currently (July 2, 2026) integrated into a mixed pack. For our very dear Zamina we are looking for loving and dog-enthusiastic people who give Zamina all that she has probably never had before. Many caresses and cuddle hours, a warm and soft place to sleep, lots of love, care, security and safety, daily varied walks, dog-friendly activities and of course full family connection. Zamina will return it to you a thousandfold and be a wonderful companion. Who goes into a lifelong human-dog partnership with Zamina? Unfortunately, Zamina has a half-long tail. For interested parties from Switzerland, an X-ray must be clarified whether she was born that way or if her tail was docked. Zamina can travel around the end of July 2026 when she has found a home or foster care.

About Zamina

What life with Zamina looks like

Zamina is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zamina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zamina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zamina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zamina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zamina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zamina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zamina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
