Zaria – little puppy soul looking for her favorite human. .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-54 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-imageframe.imageframe-7 img{aspect-ratio:9 / 16;object-position:20% 38%;} .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-55 > Aufenthaltsort: Animal shelter in Slavonski Brod, Croatia Date of birth: 04.05.2026 Expected shoulder height: approx. 50cm Compatibility with cats unknown Single or second dog ideal environment: suburban, rural suitable for: ambitious dog beginners .fusion-body .fusion-button Direct to self-disclosure .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-56 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-gallery-7 .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-57 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container Isn't she just to love? Our Zaria looks with her faithful button eyes curiously into the world and seems to ask: "Well... when can I finally go home?" With her cute floppy ears, the clumsy paws and her gentle nature, she conquers hearts in no time. Like Zaria and her siblings, we don't know how they came into the world and why nobody wanted to keep them. Probably the puppies were given up shortly after their birth in an animal shelter. The employees there were very worried that the little ones would not have a chance without intensive care. That's why they asked our animal welfare partner Kristina for help. Kristina runs her own animal shelter in Croatia - and didn't hesitate for a second. She took all the puppies with her, raised them lovingly and gave them the start in life that every dog deserves. Today the little mice are healthy, lively and ready to start their journey to a new home in September. Zaria is probably a hunting dog mix and thus has the best prerequisites to become a clever, curious and lively companion one day. At the moment, however, she is above all one thing: a little puppy with a lot of nonsense in her head. Play, cuddle, stumble over her own paws, discover new smells and then fall asleep content - that's how she sees the perfect day. When Zaria grows up, she will be happy with people who lovingly promote her clever nose and her head. Mantrailing, nose work, dummy training, exciting walks or joint adventures in nature will surely bring her great joy. Of course, she can now be a puppy in peace and learn the world step by step. Zaria is looking for people who give her time, explain the world to her and welcome her as a full member of the family. People who fall in love not only with the sweet puppy, but also with the wonderful dog that will grow out of her. Maybe a basket is already waiting for Zaria at your place - and she will soon experience what a real home feels like. 🤎🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interest in an adoption? About Zaria

What life with Zaria looks like

Zaria is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zaria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zaria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zaria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zaria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zaria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zaria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zaria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
