Zeus

Husky · Male · Senior · 9 years

Breed: Husky. Sex: Male. Born: 20.11.2025. With us since: July 2026. Behavior: Hey there, my name is Zeus. I came to the shelter together with 18 other Huskies, and I am now looking for a new home. So far I have always lived with other dogs, so my new home should ideally include at least one more canine buddy. I love people and always greet them very enthusiastically and boisterously, and sometimes I hand out little kisses too. In such exciting moments, I simply don't know what to do with all my energy. Maybe sled dog sports would be something for me later on, to get rid of my excess energy. I'm already pretty good at pulling, which the people around me apparently don't find so great. I get along well with other dogs, but at the moment I'm testing my boundaries quite a bit and would like to set my own rules. Note(s): Zeus is only placed with dog-experienced people. Please arrange an appointment to meet him. Contact: Tel.: or

Rasse:Husky. About Zeus

What life with Zeus looks like

Zeus is a senior husky dog waiting at Tierheim Schleswig in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zeus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zeus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schleswig handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zeus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zeus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schleswig will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Zeus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zeus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schleswig early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zeus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
