How do I contact the shelter about Zeus?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zeus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Zeus if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Zeus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Zeus isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zeus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Zeus

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Zeus was brought to the shelter by the same person who gave up Maple. He previously lived in a factory or warehouse where tarps are made - a place that is certainly not made for a young, curious dog. Zeus is a friendly, gentle and active little male who is open and approachable to people. He gets along well with other dogs. He has not been tested with cats yet. The breeds in Zeus are a colorful surprise, as the origin of his parents is unknown. At about 30 cm and 8 kg, he is a small, compact companion who brings a lot of energy and joie de vivre despite his size. As a typical puppy, Zeus has never known life in a house. Household noises, house training, leash training and the little dog's multiplication table are still at the beginning for him. And of course, puberty will also come to Zeus. Then already learned things can suddenly seem forgotten and boundaries will be questioned again. People with patience, loving consistency and a good dose of humor will be able to accompany him through this exciting development phase. Zeus is neutered, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and de-fleaed. He has his EU pet passport with him and can be placed after a positive preliminary check and against a deposit. Would you like to give Zeus a loving home? A heartfelt thank you to Britta! Through your support, Zeus not only got an identity, but also the chance of a new life! Status: 28.09.2026 Further information on the preliminary check and deposit

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Zeus

What life with Zeus looks like

Zeus is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
