Zeus

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Zeus – a beautiful, large dog – an Argentine dog who has already gone through a lot at such a young age. Too much… Changes in homes, a lack of security and stability. Many people have reached out to us when they found out he was already under our care, and they were glad that that chapter of his life was closed. What we heard so far, we have in our minds. When he arrived at the shelter in April 2025, there was no talk of going into the kennel, taking him for a walk, or just cleaning up. Zeus started literally with his teeth. We always cleaned in shifts – two people at a time. One person fed the dog, while the other cleaned the external part of the kennel run. It took long weeks. We asked for help from Sławek, who would travel by train to visit us a few times, and it was precisely thanks to his determination and knowledge that we managed to take our first expected walks. We were scared, but what mattered was the dog’s well-being. We knew that if we gave in, it would only get worse. After some time, it became clear – it wasn’t pure aggression, but just a regular fear. Since then, Zeus has gone out for walks twice a day. He happily extends his paw, sits on command. He is affectionate with people he knows (and there are more and more of them), snuggling up to them, raising his head for a pat. It wasn’t a problem to get him vaccinated because he had already trusted us. When someone is recognized, the attachment and gratitude are enormous. He is a strong dog, but very sensitive. The further away from the animal shelter on walks, the more relaxed he becomes. Zeus is a dog who will find his place in a home without children. He needs stability, a sense of security, and routine. He requires frequent and long exploratory walks. The first walks with new people are done in the kennel, to which he is accustomed. He is more cautious with men, but that can be worked on. A wonderful dog, but not for everyone. We are looking for caregivers who know the breed, have experience with difficult dogs, and are ready to work with the dog. Born in 2023. Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. This animal must be handled with a muzzle. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

Wymaga częstych i długich spacerów zapoznawczych. Urodzony w 2023 roku.Wykastrowany, zaszczepiony i zaczipowany. Ola 533 564 074Klaudia 609 530 953

About Zeus

What life with Zeus looks like

Zeus is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zeus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zeus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zeus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zeus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zeus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zeus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zeus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
