Zia comes from a cat colony in Rö, where generations of feral cats had lived for many years. Several other cat shelters had been there over the years and taken in cats, but that always left a few behind who kept reproducing. We received an alarm about a mother with kittens and asked another cat shelter for help taking them in. A friend of ours went out to help catch them and to make sure no other cats were left. It turned out that several cats remained. Stockholms katthem has taken in most of the cats, and we promised to take the last three. Zia came in together with Zara. Once inside, it turned out that Zia had already been neutered and ear-tipped. Apparently another cat shelter released two of the neutered females back around 2018–2019. Zia had a huge hernia in her belly, perhaps she was not allowed to heal properly before being released; her hernia has now been surgically repaired. Zia has made enormous progress and lets herself be petted and brushed! She would like to move to a nice friend where she gets an enclosed outdoor run, and possibly she can go outside again after a very long time indoors. ❤️

Zia kommer från en kattkoloni i Rö där generationer av förvildade katter funnits i åratal. Flera andra katthem har varit där genom åren och tagit in katter men det har alltid lämnat några kvar som fortsatt föröka sig. Vi fick ett larm om en mamma med ungar och bad ett annat katthem om hjälp att ta dem. En vän till oss åkte ut för att hjälpa till och fånga samt se att inga andra katter fanns kvar. Det visade sig att det fanns flertalet katter kvar. Stockholms katthem har tagit in merparten av katterna och vi har lovat ta de sista tre. Zia kom in ihop med Zara. Väl inne visade det sig att Zia redan var kastrerad och id-märkt. Tydligen har ett annat katthem släppt tillbaka två av de kastrerade honorna runt 2018-2019. Zia hade ett enormt bråck på magen, kanske fick hon inte läka ordentligt innan hon blev utsläppt, hennes bråck är nu bortopererat. Zia har gjort enorma framsteg och låter sig klappas och borstas! Hon vill flytta till en schysst kompis där hon får en in-nätad rastgård, möjligen kan hon få gå ut igen efter en väldigt lång tid inne . ❤️
