ZIGGY

Bichon Frisé · Male · Young · 1 year

Ziggy, a little heart full of life, is looking for his forever family. Ziggy is a lovely Bichon Frise who is full of energy, affection, and good humor. This friendly little companion is a kind, loving, and dynamic dog, always ready to share moments of play and cuddles with the people he loves. Very sociable, Ziggy gets along particularly well with other dogs he loves to be around. He would be very happy to join a home where a canine companion already lives with whom he can share his days. He also enjoys horses and doesn't hesitate to play with them! In terms of lifestyle, Ziggy can live in a house with a garden or an apartment, as long as he has regular outings and sufficient presence. He is clean and enjoys family life. However, our little guy has some specific needs. He has difficulty coping with loneliness and therefore seeks present and available adopters who can offer him daily companionship. With cats, cohabitation is possible, but he tends to run after them for fun or curiosity. Regarding children, Ziggy will be more suitable for a family with slightly older children rather than toddlers. During car trips, he can be prone to motion sickness. A simple precaution is enough: avoid giving him food just before departure. The ideal home for Ziggy: A present and attentive family. One or more adopters with time to devote to him. Ideally another sociable dog in the home. Respectful children and not too young. A home with or without a garden, as long as he has activities and company. Ziggy is just waiting for a loving family who will offer him all the attention and affection he needs. In return, he will fill you with tenderness, joie de vivre, and loyalty. Do you think you can offer Ziggy the home he deserves? Don't hesitate to contact us ONLY BY PHONE AT 02/523.44.16 to learn more and come to meet him. He could well be the companion you've been waiting for!

Notre petit bonhomme a cependant quelques besoins spécifiques. About ZIGGY

What life with ZIGGY looks like

ZIGGY is a young adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting ZIGGY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ZIGGY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ZIGGY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ZIGGY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ZIGGY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ZIGGY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know ZIGGY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
