Ziggy

Male · Young · 1 year

Ziggy is a young and energetic dog of the beagle type weighing 20 kg. Ziggy ended up in the animal shelter along with his smaller brother, Bowiem. The brothers love each other very much, but for adoption they can go separately! Ziggy has a lot of youthful energy. He is about 1–2 years old. He loves to actively spend time. Whether it's playing with his brother or chasing a toy! Ziggy is a strong dog and needs long and creative walks. This dog doesn't like boredom. He is always looking for ways to make his time more interesting. He likes and needs contact with people! He will always find time to cuddle, learn new things or have fun. In the animal shelter he is very upset and stressed. He is frustrated by lack of movement and space. On walks he wants to go everywhere, so he may pull when something interests him. He tends to ignore other dogs and does not look for fights. He finds his way around the city quite well. He isn't afraid of passing cars. He is positively disposed towards strangers! He gladly comes to greet them. In the kennel he is constantly looking for a familiar face that will take him for a walk... He waits all day by the bars for a moment of closeness with a person... For Ziggie we are looking for a home that will teach him to relax and show him what safety and love are.

Frustruje go brak ruchu i przestrzeni.

About Ziggy

What life with Ziggy looks like

Ziggy is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires extensive exercise and mental stimulation, shows signs of shelter stress

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ziggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ziggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ziggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ziggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ziggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ziggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ziggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
