Zirpy (m)

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

🐾 ZIPPY searches for his Forever Home 🐾 ZIPPY is a ca. 55 cm large, lively male dog from Romania 🇷🇴, who, despite his tough start in life, simply wants to be loved. ❤️🐶 As a puppy, ZIPPY was found with a broken left hind leg. His kneecap had to be put back in place, and he underwent surgery. 🏥 The rod used has since been removed, and ZIPPY has recovered very well. 💪 Due to the injury, one of his hind legs is slightly shorter, as both legs did not grow evenly during his growth. But ZIPPY is not at all restricted by this – he gets along well and enjoys life to the fullest. 🐕💨✨ ✨ This is what makes ZIPPY: * friendly and very people-oriented ❤️ * compatible with other dogs 🐕🐾 * cheerful and full of life 🌞 Cat test at any time! 🩺 Health & Status: * fully vaccinated 💉 * EU pet passport available 📘 💔 Why ZIPPY is special to us: Just like ZIPPY, dogs like him have it so hard to be seen. Not because they are difficult – quite the opposite. But because a small physical peculiarity scares off many people. It is exactly these dogs for whom we fight. 💛 Dogs with great character who are ready for a home long ago but are often overlooked. We firmly believe that somewhere there is that one person… ✨ Someone who does not look for a "perfect" puppy but a loyal companion. 🐾 A dog whose essence we already know – and for whom we can say: He is simply great. ❤️ ZIPPY is waiting for such a person. 🙏🐶 Who gives him the chance he so deserves? 🍀 📩 Get in touch if you are interested or have questions! ZIPPY will be rehomed through Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. – with home check and adoption contract 📋 Contact: or on FB ✅ The association of course has the §11 (Animal Protection Act) in place.

About Zirpy (m)

What life with Zirpy (m) looks like

Zirpy (m) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zirpy (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zirpy (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zirpy (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zirpy (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zirpy (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zirpy (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zirpy (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
