Adopt Ziuta

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Ziuta came to the animal shelter in 2016. A tiny, less than a year old ball of fluff didn't know where she was. Why did she end up in a place where you can hear the squeaking and crying of so many dogs? She was terrified and at first didn't let anyone come close to her. The volunteers therefore started working with her. One day she trusted them enough to go out for her first walk. Over time, she noticed that walks and a leash are not bad things. Unfortunately, Ziuta never really fully opens up in the animal shelter. She is still terrified and appears at the door of the kennel only when she knows a walk is coming soon. Most likely she feels safe among her fellow kennel mates. They give her the greatest support. Ziuta is a sensitive, quiet girl who doesn't ask like other dogs for cuddles or pats, but stands to the side and watches. I get along with the dogs that are her support and thanks to them she opens up more and more. Only a loving and responsible home is able to show her that she no longer has to be afraid and that there are also good people. Nobody asks about someone like her... People prefer more open and social dogs, not those that are withdrawn and sensitive like her... Will a miracle happen and that one phone call change her fate? We dream about it so much! Potential adoptive family should be prepared that work with a behaviorist may be needed. Born in 2015. She is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.

Ziuta trafiła do schroniska w 2016 roku. Malutka, niespełna roczna kuleczka nie wiedziała gdzie jest. Czemu trafiła do miejsca, gdzie słychać piszczenie i płacz aż tylu psów? To oni dają jej największe oparcie. Urodzona w 2015 roku. Jest zaszczepiona, wysterylizowana i zaczipowana. About Ziuta

What life with Ziuta looks like

Ziuta is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ziuta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ziuta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ziuta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ziuta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ziuta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ziuta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ziuta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
