Adopt Zizel (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Name Zizel Born ca. 2016 Gender female, neutered Breed mixed breed (Kokoni-Mix) Size small, ca. 6 kg foster home Zizel has made it and enchanted her new humans directly 🙂 We wish the mouse and her humans a wonderful time with lots of cuddles and walks. The age given here is often an estimate, as we don't always know the exact age. Other information, such as size, is subjective. … always incredible but true… this sweet little female dog was found wandering on the street… no one misses her… simply discarded… A kind animal protection colleague took the little mouse in. She has already been seen by a vet, and so far everything seems to be in order, which is why she could also be neutered. She now lives with other dogs and cats and is doing great. But she might prefer a bit more quiet. She loves to cuddle with people. Zizel made it and came to Germany. She is really a totally loving, happy, and open female dog. Zizel made it and came to a great foster home in Germany. She quickly settled in and has the two boys there under control. She is really a totally loving, happy, and open female dog. She runs well on a leash, shows no prey drive so far, and can also run without a leash. She loves long walks and playing with her dog buddy, because she has real power. Driving her in a car is no problem for her, just like being alone … and she is a real cuddle mouse. So basically a lottery win. Foreigners and loud noises unsettle her a little… but who knows what has already happened to her on her -wanderings- through the streets. We are looking for a home for the mouse in a more rural area. She would definitely be happy with a good dog buddy, but she would also be absolutely happy as a solo princess, because then she would have her people all to herself. Please note the distance to Mainz, as we do not place our shelter animals for the first visit. About Zizel (vermittelt)

What life with Zizel (vermittelt) looks like

Zizel (vermittelt) is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zizel (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zizel (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zizel (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zizel (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zizel (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zizel (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zizel (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
